— John 1:1
God and His Word are ONE. To reject His Word is to reject Him. To doubt His Word is to doubt Him. True faith requires complete surrender to every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
Believing 100% in God's Word
Many claim to believe in God while rejecting parts of His Word. This is impossible! God IS His Word. Jesus IS the Word made flesh.
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us" — John 1:14
True believers accept EVERY word of God without question. His Word is truth, life, and the only path to salvation.
"Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth." — John 17:17
Matthew 4:4
"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God."
2 Timothy 3:16
"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."
Isaiah 55:11
"So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please."
Those who refuse to believe God's Word are already condemned. Their unbelief is not just ignorance - it is rebellion against the Creator.
"He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned."
"He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."
"That they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness."
"Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God."
Many claim to know God while living in disobedience to His Word. They are liars and hypocrites, deceiving themselves and others. God knows their hearts and will judge them accordingly.
Understanding the Barrier Between Heaven and Earth
It is not poverty, sickness, ignorance, or circumstances that separate you from God. It is SIN and SIN ALONE that creates an impassable gulf between holy God and sinful man.
God is absolutely holy and cannot tolerate sin in His presence. Even one sin makes you completely unfit for heaven. His holiness is like a consuming fire that destroys all unrighteousness.
"For our God is a consuming fire." — Hebrews 12:29
"Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrongdoing." — Habakkuk 1:13
Sin doesn't just separate you from God temporarily - it brings spiritual death. You are born spiritually dead because of sin, unable to please God or understand spiritual things.
"And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins." — Ephesians 2:1
"The soul who sins shall die." — Ezekiel 18:20
No amount of good works, religious activity, or moral improvement can bridge the gap that sin has created. You cannot save yourself because you are spiritually dead and completely corrupted by sin.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
"For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all."
"Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness."
"But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe."
"They have all turned aside, They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one."
Understanding Our Sinful Nature
In the Garden of Eden, Adam disobeyed God's command and brought sin into the world. Through one man's disobedience, sin entered and death spread to all mankind.
"Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned" — Romans 5:12
Even those who never committed the same sin as Adam are still guilty before God. We are all born with a sinful nature inherited from Adam.
"Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of Adam's transgression" — Romans 5:14
Scripture declares that ALL have sinned and fall short of God's glory. There are no exceptions - every person who has ever lived (except Jesus) is guilty of sin.
"There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one."
"For there is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin."
"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."
Because of sin, every person will die physically. Death entered the world through Adam's sin.
More importantly, sin separates us from God forever. Without salvation, sinners face eternal punishment.
Where Will You Spend Eternity?
"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." — Revelation 21:4
"In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore." — Psalm 16:11
"But nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it." — Revelation 21:27
"And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." — Matthew 25:46
"And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night." — Revelation 14:11
"And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot." — Luke 16:26
Every person will spend eternity in one of these two places. There is no middle ground, no purgatory, no second chances after death. Your choice in this life determines your eternal destiny.
You don't know when your life will end. Today could be your last opportunity to choose Heaven over Hell.

Understanding the True Nature of Sin
The word "sin" means to miss the mark or fall short of a standard. God's standard is absolute perfection. Even one sin makes you guilty before God.
Sin is lawlessness - breaking God's commandments. Every time you lie, steal, lust, hate, or disobey God in any way, you are breaking His law.
God created you to reflect His glory, but sin has corrupted that image. You cannot bring glory to God in your natural state because you are spiritually dead in sin.
What Your Sin Has Done to You
Sin separates you from God. You are spiritually dead and cannot have fellowship with the holy God.
After death comes judgment. Because you are a sinner, you are destined for eternal punishment in hell.
This is your condition before God right now. You are a guilty sinner under the wrath of God, destined for eternal punishment. You must understand this reality before you can understand your need for repentance.
What God's Word Says About You
When Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden, sin entered the human race. Every person born since Adam has inherited a sinful nature. This is not something you chose - it's what you are.
"Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me." — Psalm 51:5
David recognized that he was sinful from the moment of conception. This is the condition of every human being.
"For there is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin." — Ecclesiastes 7:20
Even the most moral person on earth is still a sinner. There are no exceptions to this universal condition.
You Don't Become a Sinner by Breaking the Law
You were born a sinner - this is your nature from the moment of conception. You don't become a sinner by breaking God's law; you break God's law because you ARE a sinner by nature.
David understood that his sinful condition existed from the very moment of his conception. This is the universal condition of all humanity.
God's law doesn't make you a sinner - it reveals that you already ARE a sinner. The law exposes your sinful nature and shows you the depth of your corruption.
Paul explains that the law's purpose is to make sin known - to reveal what was already there.
The book of Romans systematically proves that all humanity - both Jews and Gentiles - are born sinners under condemnation, regardless of whether they have the law or not.
"For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves" — Romans 2:14
Even without written law, they know right from wrong and are condemned.
"Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God." — Romans 3:19
Having the law makes them even more guilty because they know better.
After examining both Jews and Gentiles, Paul concludes that ALL are born sinners, ALL are under sin, and ALL are condemned before God.
The law was given to make you conscious of your sin and your desperate need for forgiveness. It drives you to acknowledge your guilt before God and cry out for mercy.
The law actually stirs up sin in our hearts, proving that we are sinners by nature, not by choice.
Understanding Why God Gave the Laws
God gave His law not to make you righteous, but to show you how sinful you really are. The law is like a mirror that reveals the dirt on your face - it shows you the problem but cannot clean you.
God's law demands absolute perfection. It requires you to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself. Have you done this perfectly every moment of your life?
The law reveals not just outward actions, but the sinful thoughts and desires of your heart. God sees and judges the intentions of your heart, not just your external behavior.
What the Law Cannot Do for You
You cannot be made righteous before God by keeping the law. The law only condemns you because you have already broken it. Even if you could keep it perfectly from now on, you are still guilty of past violations.
The law does not bring God's favor - it brings His wrath upon sinners. Every commandment you break increases your guilt and condemnation before the holy God.
The law was given to make you conscious of your sin and your desperate need for forgiveness. It drives you to acknowledge your guilt before God and cry out for mercy.
The law's purpose is to make you acknowledge your sins before God and understand your desperate need to repent!
Now that you understand what sin really means, its devastating consequences, your sinful nature, and the purpose of God's law, you must face the truth: You are a guilty sinner who has broken God's law and deserves His eternal punishment.
The law has done its work - it has shown you your sin and made you guilty before God.
You now understand your desperate need for repentance and forgiveness, but how can a holy God forgive sins? What provision has He made for the forgiveness of sins? The next step will reveal God's plan from the beginning.
Are you ready to learn about God's provision for the forgiveness of sins? The next step will show you how God established the way for sins to be forgiven through His divine plan.
— Acts 3:19
The Battle Between Flesh and Spirit
Your human reasoning and natural thoughts are hostile to God. You cannot understand spiritual things with your carnal mind, and you resist God's truth because it condemns you.
"Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be." — Romans 8:7
Your natural mind is at war with God and cannot submit to His law.
"But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." — 1 Corinthians 2:14
You cannot understand God's truth in your natural state.
Your human wisdom is foolishness to God. Stop leaning on your own understanding and submit to God's Word!
Biblical Repentance from Both Testaments
The Hebrew word "shuv" means to turn back, return, or change direction. It involves turning away from sin and turning back to God.
The Hebrew word "nacham" means to be sorry, to grieve, or to have compassion. True repentance involves genuine sorrow for sin.
The Greek word "metanoia" means a change of mind, a transformation of thinking that leads to a change of behavior.
There is a difference between godly sorrow that leads to repentance and worldly sorrow that leads to death.
Acknowledging Your Guilt Before God
After his adultery with Bathsheba and murder of Uriah, David made a complete confession of his sin before God:
Daniel confessed not only his own sins but the sins of his people Israel.
Jesus told this parable to show what true repentance looks like.
The Only Way God Established for Forgiveness
From the very beginning, God established that sin requires death, and forgiveness requires the shedding of blood. This is not man's idea - this is God's eternal law.
"For the wages of sin is death" — Romans 6:23a
Sin demands death as payment. This is God's justice.
"For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul." — Leviticus 17:11
Blood represents life given for atonement.
God commanded daily sacrifices to be offered for the sins of the people. These sacrifices pointed to the need for atonement.
Once a year, on the Day of Atonement, the high priest would make atonement for all the sins of Israel.
One goat was sacrificed, the other sent away bearing the sins of the people
The high priest sprinkled blood on the mercy seat for atonement
The Passover lamb had to be without blemish, and its blood protected the Israelites from death.
God's Final Word in the Old Testament
Through the prophet Malachi, God promised to send a messenger who would prepare the way, and then the Lord Himself would suddenly come to His temple.
"My messenger" who would prepare the way - this speaks of one who would come first to make ready the people.
"The Lord" and "the Messenger of the covenant" - this speaks of God Himself coming to His people.
Malachi warns that when the Lord comes, He will be like a refiner's fire and like launderer's soap - He will purify and cleanse, but who can stand before His holiness?
This promise points to a coming One who would deal with sin once and for all.
After Malachi's prophecy, God was silent for 400 years. No prophet spoke. The people waited for the fulfillment of this promise.
The Old Testament ends with this promise hanging in the air: God will send His messenger, and then the Lord Himself will come!
✓ Your carnal mind is enmity against God
✓ True repentance means change of mind
✓ Confession of sin is required
✓ Without blood, there is no forgiveness
✓ God established the law of atonement
✓ God promised to send His messenger
Now you are ready to learn about the fulfillment of God's promise. The next step will reveal how God kept His word through the New Testament!
— Hebrews 9:22
Repentance is not just feeling sorry for sin; it is a complete change of mind and direction. In the Old Testament, repentance involved turning back to God from idolatry and disobedience. In the New Testament, it involves a transformation of thinking that leads to a new life in Christ.
A complete return to God, abandoning sin.
A fundamental shift in thinking about God, sin, and salvation.
Confession is agreeing with God about your sin. In both Testaments, true confession involves acknowledging sin specifically, taking full responsibility, and seeking mercy.
Examples like David and Daniel show confession as acknowledging sin against God and seeking His mercy.
Confession to God and sometimes to others, leading to forgiveness and restoration.
In the Old Testament, God forgave sins through the sacrificial system established at Sinai. Sin required blood sacrifice, and God provided the means for atonement through animal sacrifices that pointed to the coming Messiah.
If you lived in Old Testament times, the atonement system was the ONLY way God forgave sins. Without the proper blood sacrifice, sins remained unforgiven, and you would end up in hell. Even if one step in the sacrificial process was not done correctly or was skipped, there was no forgiveness.
The law was strict: "without shedding of blood there is no remission" (Hebrews 9:22)
Many people think they can earn forgiveness through their own efforts - praying, fasting, giving sacrifices, doing good works. But in the Old Testament, God rejected any approach that bypassed the required atonement system. Even worse, God does not listen to sinners. You must be sinless to approach God in prayer.
Jesus Christ willingly went to the cross and died as a substitute for sinners. He took upon Himself the punishment that you deserve for your sins.
God's justice demanded that sin be punished. Jesus satisfied that justice by taking the full wrath of God upon Himself. God's justice is now satisfied for all who believe in Jesus.
On the third day, Jesus rose from the dead, proving that His sacrifice was accepted by God and that He has power over sin and death.
Jesus ascended to heaven where He sits at the right hand of God the Father. He intercedes for believers and will one day return as King of kings.
Jesus Christ is the perfect fulfillment of every Old Testament prophecy, type, and shadow. Everything in the Old Testament pointed to Him.
Perfect, without blemish, blood saves from death
High priest enters with blood once for all
God provides the substitute sacrifice
Unlike the animal sacrifices that had to be repeated year after year, Jesus offered Himself once for all time. His sacrifice is perfect and complete.
The work is FINISHED! The perfect sacrifice has been made!
Every question has been answered! Every prophecy fulfilled! Every need met! Jesus Christ is the perfect Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
You have learned about your sinful nature, your need for repentance, and God's requirement for blood sacrifice. You have seen how the Old Testament sacrifices could only temporarily cover sin. Now you know the answer: Jesus Christ is the perfect sacrifice for sin!
